The career of John Waters—one of the most influential and beloved underground filmmakers in the history of American movies—has a symmetry to it ironically at odds with his films’ trashy chaos. Next week the first full U.S. retrospective of John Waters's films will launch with the series 50 Years of John Waters: How Much Can You Take?. FilmLinc spoke with Waters in the following brief videos that can be found on the Film Society's YouTube channel.

In the following three videos the filmmaker/author/artist did for the Film Society, Waters gives hilarious observations about three of his features: Pecker, Pink Flamingos and Hairspray.
